Visiondivision and Svensk Standard‘s Markus Wagner are either brilliant or have lost their damn minds: Proposing a new performing arts complex for the opera in Taipei, the Swedish firm and friends dreamt up the Tornado Tower, a flat-roofed half-egg on a giant stem that whisks theatergoers up in “non-toxic and non-flammable,” semi-reflective acrylic balls and is festooned with wind-catching scales that generate power for the building and its surroundings.
